MADISONVILLE, KY. (November 6, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 in Madisonville is investigating a fatal collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian that occurred November 5, 2025 in Christian County.
At approximately 7:15 PM CT, Christian County Dispatch contacted KSP Post 2 requesting assistance with a collision near the 4500 block of Madisonville Road (US-41) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
A preliminary investigation indicates a Christian County Deputy was operating a marked police cruiser when responding to a call for service. While traveling to the call the deputy struck a pedestrian who was in the the roadway.
The pedestrian, Brandon Higgins, 40 years old of Hopkinsville, Kentucky was pronounced dead on scene by the Christian County Coroner.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led Detective Jacob Stephens (U/1216) of the Kentucky State Police.
