{"id":56705,"date":"2026-03-09T13:02:55","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T17:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov\/?p=56705"},"modified":"2026-03-09T13:02:55","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T17:02:55","slug":"p2-3-9-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov\/news\/p2-3-9-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Kentucky State Police Post 2 Investigating Fatal Collision in Christian County"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>MADISONVILLE, Ky.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(March 9, 2026)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 is investigating a fatal collision involving a semi-truck and trailer and a sedan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian County Dispatch contacted KSP Dispatch at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, requesting assistance with a fatal collision at the 4800 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck and trailer operated by Gerasimos Livieratos, 36, of Chicago, Illinois, was traveling southbound and attempted to make a U-turn when a northbound sedan, operated by Bernice Franklin, 33, of Clarksville, Tennessee, collided with the trailer of the semi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Franklin was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Livieratos was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to or improper signal, improper turning, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance (1st offense, aggravated circumstance), and vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs\/substance.
