(March 5, 2026)<\/strong> <strong>\u2014<\/strong> The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 will join state police agencies from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for the 6-State Trooper Project, a multi-state enforcement initiative taking place March 5-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This enforcement period will focus on criminal patrol and drug interdiction efforts along major transportation corridors in the contributing states. Through coordinated operations and intelligence sharing, participating agencies aim to disrupt the movement of illegal narcotics and apprehend individuals engaged in criminal activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the spring travel season approaches and traffic volumes begin to increase, law enforcement agencies are emphasizing proactive patrols to help ensure the safety and security of motorists traveling through the region. During the initiative, KSP troopers will conduct high-visibility patrols focusing on criminal activity, drug trafficking and other offenses that threaten public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Captain Jeremy Smith, commander of KSP Post 4, said collaboration across state lines strengthens the impact of enforcement efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCriminals often move across state lines, but so does our commitment to public safety,\u201d Captain Smith said. \u201cStrong partnerships between agencies allow us to disrupt illegal drug trafficking and better protect the communities we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KSP encourages motorists to travel responsibly and remain aware during the upcoming spring travel season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Know Your Route:<\/strong> Plan ahead and remain alert to changing traffic patterns and road conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Stay Lawful and Compliant:<\/strong> Ensure your vehicle registration, insurance and driver\u2019s license are current before traveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Secure Your Vehicle:<\/strong> Lock your vehicle doors and safeguard valuables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Report Suspicious Behavior:<\/strong> If you observe suspected criminal activity, contact your nearest KSP Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kentucky State Police remains committed to improving roadway safety through collaboration, enforcement and public education.
