(Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort) on February 8 to help keep roadways safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Operation C.A.R.E. is a nationwide initiative by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:*2F*2Fwww.theiacp.org*2F\/1\/0100019c34c43cd1-efd23585-b3e2-4ee7-b7fb-43e4975e2d5f-000000\/uu2z4CNqjsPN13WnVxJ0z9p99h1ViH6ru4xnfxwjgjI=443__;JSUl!!Db6frn15oIvDD3UI!kOPYTA8gu5qvW9qR8eJyJUnRW_vLmgzTx-o_tmpCjpcAC1X5LcvASbmvoC6wacaTppmG8Zr6OPi9ZOFBe3ny7GkvY08Gyfcgrvgo8Jc$\">International Association of Chiefs of Police<\/a>&nbsp;designed to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities through proactive enforcement and public education. With increased traffic expected on Super Bowl Sunday, troopers will be monitoring for impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and seatbelt violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur priority is simple: preventing crashes before they happen,\u201d said Acting Post Commander Lt. Bobby King. \u201cSuper Bowl celebrations should never come at the cost of someone\u2019s life. A few responsible choices behind the wheel can make all the difference for families across our community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the enforcement effort, troopers will be highly visible on interstates, parkways and local roadways. KSP encourages motorists to make safety part of their Super Bowl plans by following these reminders:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make Transportation Arrangements<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 If alcohol will be involved, decide how you\u2019re getting home before kickoff. Use a sober driver, rideshare service or public transportation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Slow Down and Leave Space<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Speeding and tailgating significantly increase crash risk, especially during nighttime travel.
