(July 9, 2025)<\/strong> Kentucky State Police Post 16 \u2013 Henderson received a call from McLean County Dispatch around 8:30p.m. CT of a one-vehicle collision on KY 81 near Wallace Lynn Road, north of Calhoun, Kentucky (McLean County).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preliminary investigation reveals <strong>18-year-old Leland Thompson of Calhoun, KY<\/strong> was traveling southbound on KY 81 in a 2003 Toyota Collora. The investigation determined, Thompson exited off the right shoulder of the road where he lost control, crossing both lanes striking an earthembankment and overturning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thompson and three juveniles were transported via ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries. One 15-year-old juvenile was transported to Norton&#8217;s Children Hospital in Louisville where she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s unknow at this time if all participants were wearing their seatbelts; however, KSP troopers are currently reconstructing the collision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kentucky State Police, McLean County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, Central and Calhoun Fire Departments and McLean County EMS assisted troopers at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p># # #<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CALHOUN, Ky.
